This Applied Scientist builds and deploys large-scale recommendation systems and machine learning models. The work covers data preparation, training, evaluation, deployment and monitoring, along with fast experimentation to measure business impact. The role involves working with designers, UX researchers, product managers and engineers, and includes agentic AI work. It is based in Bangalore and suits an ML practitioner with about two years of industry experience.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop large-scale recommendation systems using ML, ranking algorithms and deep learning
  • Build and operate ML models on high-volume data for personalization and prediction
  • Run rapid experiments to validate hypotheses and measure business impact
  • Own data preparation, training, evaluation and deployment pipelines with engineering
  • Monitor model performance and identify drift and failure modes
  • Work with product, design and engineering teams to integrate ML and GenAI features

What you need

  • Bachelor's or master's in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, Analytics or a related field
  • 2+ years of industry experience in ML or Data Science, ideally in recommendation or personalization
  • Proficiency in Python and tools like NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Experience with NLP, reinforcement learning, time series and deep learning
  • Experience with big data (Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience deploying ML models in production and strong communication skills
