Cybersecurity Analyst I
About this role
Avnet's Farnell business runs a 24/7 Security Operations Centre in Bangalore that protects its systems and data. The Cybersecurity Analyst I monitors security alerts, investigates them using tools such as EDR, NDR and SIEM, and performs initial incident triage. The analyst escalates to senior analysts, hands over cases between shifts and helps maintain security documentation. Rotating shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays are expected. It suits people with a cybersecurity foundation and under 2 years of experience.

What you'll do
- Monitor security alerts and events and respond to potential incidents
- Triage incidents and escalate to higher-level analysts when needed
- Investigate alerts from EDR, NDR and SIEM tools and document findings
- Hand over and accept ongoing investigations between SOC shifts
- Contribute to security documentation, procedures and incident response plans
- Keep up with emerging threats and take part in training
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT or related field
- Less than 2 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or a related role
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, monitoring and incident response
- Basic knowledge of common threats, vulnerabilities and attack techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication
- Comfortable with rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
