About this role

ABB's Process Automation Digital division in Bangalore builds digital solutions for process, hybrid and maritime industries. This role develops machine learning and AI solutions for machinery and process monitoring and diagnostics. You analyze industrial data, build statistical and predictive models for failure detection and life estimation, and create working prototypes for customer demonstrations. You also work with customers and business units to shape solutions. It suits data scientists with a strong statistics and ML foundation and 2-5 years of industrial analytics experience.

What you'll do

  • Develop machine learning and AI solutions for the process automation digital organization
  • Create scalable models and algorithms for integration into proprietary tools and products
  • Build statistical and predictive models for equipment monitoring, failure detection and life estimation
  • Analyze data, perform data cleansing, feature selection and feature engineering
  • Develop agile proof-of-concept prototypes for customers
  • Work with customers and business units to build tailored solutions

What you need

  • PhD / M.Tech. / MS in Statistics, Physics or any engineering branch; Statistics, Mathematics or Physics profiles may also apply
  • 2 to 5 years of work experience in data science for industrial analytics problems
  • Extensive programming experience in Python (preferred), R, Matlab, C or C++
  • Good foundation in statistics, mathematics and machine learning
  • Experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow is preferred
  • Docker, Kubernetes and MLflow familiarity is good to have
