About this role

The Airbus Innovation Center in India and South Asia works on turning new technologies into industrial products, drawing on in-house engineers as well as startups, national labs, universities and partners. Its focus areas include decarbonization, AI, industrial automation, unmanned air systems, connectivity, space tech and autonomy. This is a 6-month internship in Bangalore where the intern works with product owners and analyzes data to support product decisions. Day to day it involves cleaning and exploring datasets, helping train and evaluate machine learning and computer vision models, and presenting findings. It suits engineering or computer science students with Python, R or SQL skills and a portfolio of projects.

What you'll do

  • Collect, clean and organize large datasets from various sources
  • Run exploratory data analysis to find patterns, trends and insights
  • Help train, fine-tune and evaluate machine learning and computer vision models
  • Support development and implementation of data models and algorithms
  • Visualize data and build reports and presentations on findings
  • Document code, experiments and findings and help optimize data processes

What you need

  • 3rd or 4th year engineering student, 3rd year bachelor's student, or master's student in computer science or a related field
  • Proficiency in Python, R or SQL
  • Familiarity with data manipulation and visualization tools such as Pandas, Matplotlib or Tableau
  • GitHub profile showcasing projects developed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, good communication and attention to detail
  • Preferred: good Kaggle or AI challenge ranking, computer vision/3D vision projects, full stack knowledge
