About this role

This is a six-month, full-time, in-person software development internship at Amazon in India, with start dates between January and June 2027. Interns write real software on projects tied to customer-facing products, working with experienced engineers. Each intern is matched to a manager and a mentor. The work covers areas such as distributed systems, data mining, automation, optimization, scalability and security. It suits students graduating in 2027 who have solid computer science fundamentals and can commit fully for the whole internship.

What you'll do

  • Work with cross-disciplinary teams to design and build products and services
  • Design and build technologies in a large distributed computing environment
  • Create solutions that run predictions on distributed systems
  • Build scalable, fault-tolerant distributed storage, index and query systems
  • Design and code solutions starting from broadly defined problems
  • Deliver high-quality software in an agile environment

What you need

  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals: object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis
  • Knowledge of a programming language such as C/C++, Python, Java or Perl
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field at time of application
  • Year of graduation 2027
  • Available full-time (40 hours/week) for 24-26 weeks with no conflicting classes, projects or other work
  • Ability to submit a university-signed declaration of availability for the full internship
