About this role

Equifax's Site Reliability Engineering team combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. This SRE II role in Trivandrum works in a DevSecOps environment with development, operations and cloud operations teams. The work covers building highly available systems, writing auto-remediation tools, setting up monitoring and alerting, and creating infrastructure as code. It includes participating in a 24/7 follow-the-sun first-responder rotation for incidents. It suits engineers with 2-5 years of experience in engineering or systems work and some public cloud background. The work setting is hybrid.

What you'll do

  • Build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems in a DevSecOps environment
  • Work with development and operations teams on highly available, cost-effective systems with high uptime
  • Resolve trouble tickets and develop and run scripts with the cloud operations team
  • Create tools for auto-remediation and end-to-end monitoring and alerting
  • Build infrastructure as code patterns using Terraform, cloud CLI scripting or cloud SDKs
  • Participate in the 24/7 follow-the-sun first-responder team for incident and problem management

What you need

  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, or equivalent job experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, database administration and networking
  • 1+ years developing or administering software in a public cloud
  • Experience in at least one of Python, Bash, Java or JavaScript
  • System administration and automation skills with Terraform, Chef, Ansible or containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tooling and practices; cloud certification strongly preferred
