SDE II - Data Engineer
About this role
InMobi's Demand-Side Platform (DSP) team runs programmatic advertising, campaign analytics, audience targeting and attribution. This SDE II role is based in Lucknow and centres on building and maintaining batch and streaming data pipelines for events like bid requests, impressions, clicks and conversions. Day to day it involves Python, SQL and Spark/PySpark work, data quality checks, and troubleshooting production pipeline issues. You will work with backend, product and ML engineers. It suits data engineers with a couple of years of experience who want to work on high-volume event data.

What you'll do
- Develop, maintain and optimise batch and streaming pipelines for ad events such as bid requests, impressions, clicks and conversions
- Build ingestion and transformation workflows using Python, SQL and Spark/PySpark
- Implement data quality checks, schema validation, error handling and monitoring
- Handle duplicate, delayed or failed events using retries, checkpointing and recovery
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks and data discrepancies
- Schedule and manage pipelines with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, and take part in code reviews and deployments
What you need
- 2–5 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering or big data development
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
- Strong Python and good SQL skills, including query optimisation
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark/PySpark or a similar distributed framework
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and understanding of batch and streaming concepts
- Familiarity with Kafka, a cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure) and workflow orchestration tools
