About this role
KLA's Broadband Plasma division makes optical inspection systems that chip manufacturers use to find critical defects at advanced nodes. This Product Applications Engineer role is based in Chennai and works closely with customers. The engineer demonstrates the products, supports beta testing and tool ramps, and investigates yield issues. The role also covers characterising tool and algorithm performance, troubleshooting, documenting results and training field teams. It suits self-driven engineers comfortable working with limited supervision and travelling more than half the time.

What you'll do
- Demonstrate product value to customers during beta testing, head-to-head comparisons and tool ramps
- Investigate semiconductor manufacturing yield issues and provide inspection solutions
- Develop test plans and characterize tool and algorithm performance, giving feedback to engineering
- Diagnose and resolve customer problems
- Train customers and Field Applications Engineers
- Document results and lessons learned in best known methods, demo reports and test reports
What you need
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or a related field
- Master's degree with 0 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Strong team player able to work with limited supervision
- Willingness to travel more than 50% of the time
