About this role

Lenskart's Retail Technology team, working with the CEO's Office, applies AI to store operations, maintenance and new store openings. This junior role combines data engineering with AI/ML work. The engineer builds LLM-powered dashboards, AI agents and data pipelines for store ops, maintenance and leadership teams. The work also includes monitoring model accuracy and helping non-technical retail staff adopt the tools. It is a hybrid role aimed at people with 1-3 years of experience.

What you'll do

  • Build operational dashboards using LLM APIs and visualization tools
  • Build and deploy AI agents for escalations, store ops, maintenance and new store openings
  • Monitor and improve ML/AI model accuracy, including A/B testing
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines from POS, ERP, IoT and ticketing systems
  • Ensure data quality and governance for pipelines feeding AI systems
  • Support rollout of AI tools to non-technical retail staff with documentation

What you need

  • 1-3 years of experience in data engineering, ML engineering or a related AI/software role
  • Python proficiency (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, FastAPI/Flask)
  • Experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG and agent frameworks
  • SQL and working knowledge of cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift
  • Data pipeline tools such as dbt, Airflow or Prefect
  • Git, CI/CD, and dashboard tools such as Streamlit, Tableau or Power BI
