About this role

Medpace is a clinical contract research organisation, and this role is in its Information Technology team at the Mumbai office. The Junior Software QA Test Engineer (Validation Engineer) checks that internal applications meet the needs of their users. The work involves manual, exploratory and automated testing, writing test cases and plans, and reporting defects. The engineer works closely with developers and end users throughout the software life cycle. It suits computer science or IT graduates who are comfortable with manual testing and cross-team communication.

What you'll do

  • Work with developers and end users through the software life cycle to make sure applications meet user needs
  • Test using manual, exploratory and automated methods
  • Create and maintain test cases, test plans and project documentation
  • Take part in peer review of test cases
  • Identify and report software defects and inconsistencies
  • Review requirement specifications to ensure full test coverage and help end users run acceptance test scripts

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
  • Experience writing and executing manual tests for complex software applications
  • Experience working with cross-departmental teams of developers, department leads and end users
  • Excellent computer, analytical, written and oral communication skills
  • Automated testing experience is a plus
  • Experience in the regulated healthcare industry is a plus
