Information Technology Intern

About this role

This is an internship in the Information Technology division of MSD (Merck & Co.), a global biopharma company, based at its Hyderabad Tech Center. The IT teams act as business partners and build digital solutions and custom software that support the company's medicines, vaccines and animal health products. Interns apply their coursework to real-world projects, and the assignment could fall in areas such as cloud infrastructure, cyber security, software development, data and analytics, AI and machine learning, user experience, or automation. The internship is meant to run January to June 2027 and feeds into the Emerging Talent Rotational (ETR) program, a full-time role starting July 2027. It suits bachelor's students graduating in June/July 2027 who are versatile, enjoy learning new technologies and are comfortable with an open-ended placement.

  • Work on real-world IT projects assigned within one of the IT areas, such as cloud, cyber security, software development, data/analytics, AI/ML, UX or automation

  • Learn new technologies and business concepts quickly while working with limited supervision

What you need

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program with a graduation date of June/July 2027
  • Preferred majors: Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Science, pharma or related fields
  • Available to intern from January to June 2027 and join as a full-time ETR from July 2027
  • Indian citizen, lawful permanent resident of India, or otherwise authorized to work in India without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter with willingness to join multiple rotations and business areas, including ones outside one's comfort zone
