About this role

The AI & Data Science Operations team at Novartis builds data-driven and AI-powered solutions to support business decisions at scale. What you'll do

  • Assist in data preparation, transformation and analysis using SQL and Python/PySpark
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and analyze structured data
  • Support development of data pipelines and feature engineering workflows
  • Assist in building and testing Agentic AI and GenAI modules under guidance
  • Perform data quality checks and basic validation of datasets
  • Document code, learnings and analysis, and work in Agile/sprint-based teams

What you need

  • Currently pursuing MTech/MS in Computer Science with Data Science/AI subjects, or a closely related field
  • SQL skills: queries, joins, aggregations
  • Python for data processing and basic scripting
  • Exposure to PySpark or Spark SQL (coursework or projects is sufficient)
  • Basic understanding of data structures, databases, data processing and machine learning fundamentals
  • Awareness of LLMs, Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts
