About this role

This role is in IT Quality Engineering Automation at Palo Alto Networks in Bangalore, as part of a shift toward an AI-first engineering culture. The engineer builds custom agentic AI applications across enterprise systems such as Salesforce, SAP and internal licensing, entitlement, quoting, provisioning and ITSM platforms. Work involves LLM orchestration, tool calling and RAG to run multi-step business workflows through APIs, with handoff to humans when needed. The engineer also builds evaluation suites, guardrails and observability for agents. It suits an early-career engineer with solid Python or TypeScript and hands-on LLM experience.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain agent workflows using LangGraph, ADK, LangChain, AutoGen or CrewAI
  • Connect agents to Salesforce, SAP and custom applications through APIs, webhooks and message queues
  • Build context grounding and RAG pipelines using vector stores such as pgvector, Pinecone and Weaviate
  • Define tool definitions and JSON function schemas, including MCP tools
  • Build golden-set evaluation suites, guardrails and human-in-the-loop workflows
  • Instrument agents with tracing and metrics and collaborate with architects, QE leads, product and security teams

What you need

  • 1-4 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrable capability
  • Strong Python or TypeScript/Node.js with sound fundamentals in data structures, testing and code review
  • Practical experience building and consuming REST APIs and working with relational databases
  • Experience with asynchronous or queue-based processing
  • Hands-on experience with LLM APIs
