About this role

This role sits in the Data Management Solutions Technical Support team at S&P Global Market Intelligence in Gurgaon. The team works with Datafeed Application Specialists and Sales to help clients deploy and troubleshoot data products such as API and Xpressfeed. Day to day, the Associate acts as a product specialist and the link between clients and the products, answering technical questions, writing SQL queries and looking into issues that affect product performance at client sites. The role suits recent Computer Science graduates with strong fundamentals in databases, networking and programming who are comfortable talking to clients across the globe and working rotating shifts.

What you'll do

  • Act as product specialist for DMS and give clients in-depth technical assistance
  • Help with deployment and troubleshooting of the products
  • Write complex SQL queries (MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and help clients with query tuning and performance
  • Assess client technical environments that may affect product performance
  • Take part in testing and user-acceptance tests of new implementations
  • Maintain local infrastructure including database servers and virtual machines

What you need

  • Graduate in Computer Science with 0 to 1 year of experience
  • Strong basics in development, database concepts and networking
  • Good English verbal and written communication
  • Good knowledge of .Net/C#/Java and web protocols such as HTTP, FTP, SSL/TLS, REST and SOAP
  • Exposure to Windows, Unix or Linux and knowledge of RDBMS concepts
  • Willing to work any 5-day shifts and longer night shifts
  • Preferred: Computer Science and Commerce/Finance background, and prior client support experience
