About this role
Target in India supports the global retailer's technology work from Bengaluru. This Developer Experience role builds a new software delivery platform that handles software and dev machine provisioning for macOS-based developers and Linux-based CI/CD agents. The engineer writes code for CLI tools, supply chain security guardrails and telemetry pipelines. It suits engineers with a couple of years of experience who are interested in platform engineering and internal developer tools.

What you'll do
- Develop, test and maintain features of a unified software delivery platform
- Contribute to clean, easy-to-use CLI tools and interfaces for developers
- Code security guardrails such as version cooldown periods and quarantine rules to block supply chain attacks
- Build telemetry pipelines that feed Snowflake, Datadog and Prometheus
- Write code that turns Tech Radar tiers into automated platform enforcement
- Take part in code reviews and work with engineering partners on compliance standards
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of professional software development, with exposure to platform engineering, infrastructure, SRE or developer experience
- Proficiency in a language such as Golang or Python
- Understanding of macOS and Linux and package managers such as Homebrew, pip and npm
- Exposure to data concepts for Snowflake, Datadog or Prometheus
- Basic knowledge of software supply chain security and good communication skills
