About this role
3M's Data & Analytics Platform Engineering team in Bangalore builds foundational data frameworks on AWS and Databricks. As an Associate Developer, you design, develop, test and support data pipelines and data models in the AWS data lake using PySpark and Spark SQL. You also build and run data ingestion frameworks in Databricks and handle platform engineering tasks. Part of the work is turning business requirements into design documents, data lineage, data dictionaries and metadata. The role is hybrid from Hebbal, Bangalore, and fits someone with a few years of data warehousing experience on AWS and Databricks.

What you'll do
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines in the AWS lake using AWS services and PySpark
- Develop, test, deploy and support data models in AWS S3 using Spark SQL
- Build and administer data ingestion frameworks in Databricks with PySpark and SQL
- Create functional and technical design documents, data lineage, data dictionaries and metadata
- Keep up with data engineering, Databricks, AWS and PySpark practices while working with local and global teams
What you need
- Bachelor's degree or higher, completed and verified before start
- 2-4 years of experience in data warehousing, including data pipelines and data modeling on AWS and Databricks
- Preferred: 2-3 years of Python, PySpark and SQL scripting plus AWS services such as S3, EMR, Glue and Athena
- Preferred: 2-3 years of Databricks experience and good relational database knowledge
- Detail-oriented, self-directed problem solver with English fluency
