What you'll do

  • Develop, test, debug and maintain software applications under senior guidance
  • Write and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions and scripts
  • Assist with relational database design, including tables, indexes and constraints
  • Support data imports, exports, transformations, migrations and integrations
  • Troubleshoot application, database and data-quality issues and assist with basic query optimization
  • Take part in code reviews, testing, documentation and deployments using Git

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in database engineering
  • Foundational knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including joins, aggregations, keys and normalization
  • Foundational programming in a language such as C#, Java, Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Familiarity with source control, debugging, testing, APIs and object-oriented programming
  • Ability to analyze problems methodically and communicate with technical and nontechnical users
