This is a full-time remote, entry-level backend role in the engineering team. The engineer builds, tests and maintains the services and applications behind these platforms. Day to day it involves shipping features, tuning performance, integrating third-party APIs and keeping web services reliable. It suits computer science graduates with solid fundamentals and backend experience who can work independently with product and design colleagues.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test and maintain backend services and applications
  • Implement new features and optimize system performance
  • Integrate third-party APIs and keep web services reliable and scalable
  • Work with product managers, designers and engineers to turn business needs into technical solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable code and take part in code reviews
  • Monitor production systems, fix technical issues and follow secure development and documentation practices

What you need

  • Strong computer science foundation: data structures, algorithms and system design
  • Proficiency in one or more modern languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or Go
  • Hands-on backend experience with RESTful APIs, microservices and SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Solid understanding of OOP principles
  • Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup
