About this role

This role is in Gartner's Tech Market Economics Data Engineering team in Gurgaon, which builds the data pipelines and services behind Gartner's quantitative research. The specialist develops, tests and deploys production-grade pipelines and AI-ready data products, turning prototype models into scalable solutions. Day to day it involves integrating data from databases, APIs and third-party systems, building data quality checks, and running and improving production platforms. The person works with product, data science, economic modelling and research teams. It suits Master's graduates or those with up to 2 years of experience in data engineering who are comfortable with Python and SQL.

What you'll do

  • Develop, test and deploy scalable data pipelines and AI-ready data products
  • Partner with Product, Data Science, Economic Modelling and Research teams to productionize new capabilities
  • Integrate data from databases, APIs, analytical platforms and third-party systems
  • Implement automated data quality frameworks, validation processes and controls
  • Operate and improve production data platforms, fixing bottlenecks and adding automation
  • Establish data standards, metadata practices and naming conventions

What you need

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field
  • 0-2 years of experience in data engineering, data management, analytics or software engineering
  • Strong Python skills and experience building data pipelines or automation
  • Experience with SQL, ETL/ELT tools, APIs or cloud data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices such as testing, version control and documentation
  • Strong understanding of data quality and data governance
