About this role
Guidewire's InsuranceNow team in Bangalore builds a core, data analytics and digital engagement system for property and casualty insurers. This onsite, full-time Software Engineer II role is mostly hands-on coding, with over 80% of time spent on it. The engineer turns product requirements into designs, builds features with automated tests, contributes to CI/CD pipelines, and resolves defects and security findings. Work is done with product management, QA, operations and domain experts. Insurance experience is not required, as the team helps new joiners ramp up.

What you'll do
- Analyze product requirements and translate them into functional definitions and software designs
- Develop product features and write automated tests
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for InsuranceNow services
- Maintain secure code and resolve application security findings
- Triage and resolve code defects
- Collaborate with product management, QA, operations and domain experts
What you need
- 2–3 years of experience using Java and object-oriented programming
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with continuous delivery, continuous integration and unit testing
- Willingness to learn the insurance domain; prior insurance experience not required
- Cloud services (e.g., AWS) and SSO/SAML knowledge are a plus
