About this role
This Data Scientist role is in HPE Operations, the IT services organization that helps customers with digital transformation. The person defines analytics objectives from user needs, then builds and improves analytic models. They choose modeling methods to suit the data and constraints, and work with application developers to embed models in business processes. They also measure model performance and present insights to stakeholders. The role is onsite in Bengaluru and suits experienced, advanced-degree data scientists.

What you'll do
- Define analytics solution objectives and technical requirements from business needs
- Build, develop and enhance analytic models for clients
- Select suitable modeling methods for the use case and data
- Embed models into business processes with application developers
- Measure business performance based on the model and lead model enhancements
- Present insights through visual models and communicate solutions to stakeholders
What you need
- PhD in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or equivalent preferred, or a Master's in these areas with 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of data science methods such as regression, neural nets, CART, clustering and text mining
- Advanced understanding of analytics software such as R, SAS, SPSS or Python
- Working knowledge of Python, SQL, R, SAS, Java or Unix shell scripting
- Advanced communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Spotfire
