About this role
Kaplan is a global education and technology company whose Bengaluru office, opened in 2018, builds products that support students worldwide. The Software Engineer I role is hybrid, with 3 days remote and 2 days in the office. The engineer builds software features from project requirements, writes unit tests and maintains test automation. They also troubleshoot existing systems and work in an Agile team with other engineers, QA, designers and project managers. It suits engineers with front-end or back-end experience who follow good coding practices.

What you'll do
- Program software applications, components or features based on project requirements
- Write and run unit tests to ensure functionality and quality
- Implement and maintain test automation frameworks and tools
- Troubleshoot existing systems and applications
- Collaborate with engineers, QA, design and project managers
- Use version control and take part in Agile story estimation, refinement and retrospectives
What you need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Engineering
- 1.5+ years of experience
- Knowledge of front-end and/or back-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, Angular, NodeJS, WebAPI and GraphQL
- Strong software development fundamentals: modularization, object-oriented design and source code management
- Ability to write production-quality code in one major programming language or framework
- Preferred: experience with AWS DevOps
