About this role

Lattice Semiconductor develops low-power, low-cost programmable logic (FPGA) solutions. The Silicon Validation Engineer works on validating FPGA building blocks such as SERDES, DDR memory interfaces, D-PHY, PLL, DSP, fabric and I/O at board level, checking that silicon meets design intent. The work runs from validation planning through silicon bring-up, characterization and datasheet preparation, using lab equipment, advanced boards and scripts. The engineer also works with design, verification, test, quality and applications teams and supports customer issues after release. It suits electrical engineering graduates keen on a career in silicon validation.

What you'll do

  • Validate and characterize IPs from silicon arrival through release to production
  • Develop validation and characterization plans for IPs, bench hardware and software
  • Develop test logic RTL for validation and characterization tests
  • Drive new silicon bring-up, validation and debug to assess IP functionality and performance
  • Characterize datasheet parameters, analyze measured data statistically and prepare datasheets
  • Support customer issues found after product release

What you need

  • 2+ years of experience
  • Electrical Engineering degree
  • Knowledge of high-speed SERDES interface characterization and protocol compliance testing (PCIe, Ethernet, MIPI D-PHY, USB, DisplayPort/HDMI, etc.)
  • Knowledge of high-speed board design, signal integrity, and Verilog/VHDL with FPGA tools
  • Test automation skills in Python or Perl, and statistical analysis with tools like JMP or R
  • Exposure to bench equipment (BERT, VNA, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers); strong communication and debugging skills
