About this role
This role is in Cadence's IP group in Noida, on a team that builds physical IP for industry-standard high-speed serial-link (SERDES) protocols. The firmware engineer works across the full firmware lifecycle, from architecture and implementation through verification, post-silicon testing and customer deployment. Day-to-day work includes implementing firmware features, debugging issues found in verification simulations, and building prototype control software for adaptation, equalization and control algorithms. The engineer also supports validation and product engineering teams during characterization, field debugging and hot fixes. It suits electrical or computer engineers with a few years of experience in C/C++ and signal processing.

What you'll do
- Contribute to firmware architecture and implement assigned firmware features for high-speed SERDES
- Build system-level prototype control software for adaptation, equalization and control algorithms
- Work with verification teams to debug and fix firmware issues
- Support post-silicon testing, validation and electrical/system characterization
- Help product engineering debug IP issues in the field and provide hot fixes during customer deployment
What you need
- B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 2-4 years of experience
- Solid programming knowledge in C/C++ and Python
- Understanding of wireline communication principles
- Knowledge of mixed-signal circuit design and digital signal processing
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
