About this role
Rockwell Automation's product security team works to make sure the company's products are built and maintained with secure development practices. This software engineer works with development teams, architects, product security engineers and DevSecOps teams to implement security capabilities, fix vulnerabilities and automate security workflows. The role spans the software lifecycle from design through deployment and maintenance, including use of Generative AI tools for development. It follows a hybrid schedule in Bangalore or Pune and reports to a Senior Manager, Software Engineering. It suits engineers with some development experience and an interest in cybersecurity and cloud.

What you'll do
- Design, develop, test and maintain software components and tools supporting product security programmes
- Apply secure coding and security-by-design principles across the lifecycle
- Support threat modelling, security reviews and vulnerability remediation
- Build automation that improves security, compliance and engineering productivity
- Integrate security tooling into CI/CD pipelines for DevSecOps projects
- Troubleshoot defects, take part in code and design reviews and maintain documentation
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of software development experience
- Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices
- Understanding of common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, CWE) and threat modelling concepts
- Experience with a modern language such as C#, C++, Java, Python, Go or TypeScript
- Experience working in Agile environments
