About this role

Amber is a student housing platform that lets students book long-term accommodation near their universities, with over 1M units across 6 countries. This is a 6-month, on-site internship in Pune with the analytics team, working on live projects for business, operations and product teams. Day to day, the intern writes SQL, builds Tableau or Power BI dashboards, and turns findings into recommendations for stakeholders. AI chatbots and coding tools are part of the daily workflow, but every result must be checked against the source data. It suits students or recent graduates who have already built something of their own with AI and can work independently on defined projects. The shift runs 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM IST.

What you'll do

  • Own project-specific analyses for business, operations or product teams
  • Write, debug and optimize SQL queries, validating AI-assisted results yourself
  • Build and maintain Tableau or Power BI dashboards to track key metrics and trends
  • Use AI chatbots and coding tools to explore data, automate repetitive reporting and prototype small tools
  • Find patterns and gaps in data and present clear recommendations to stakeholders
  • Document prompts, workflows and automations so the team can reuse them

What you need

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering or a related field
  • Hands-on SQL, including joins, aggregations and window functions
  • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets (pivots, lookups) and Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Regular, hands-on use of AI chatbots for real work
  • Basic experience with at least one AI coding tool such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Copilot
  • Have built something of your own using AI and have the habit of checking AI output against source data
  • Able to work independently and meet timelines; applications need a link to an AI-built project
