About this role
Emerson is an automation technology and software company. This Pune on-site role sits in its development engineering function and focuses on testing software for process field devices. The engineer tests electronic device descriptions (eDD) and field device integration for HART, Foundation Fieldbus (FF) and PROFIBUS protocols using the DeltaV and AMS systems and the HH475 communicator. Day to day this means writing test plans, logging issues in an issue database and reporting test status to the lead. It suits instrumentation graduates who know field devices and industrial communication protocols and have good analytical and communication skills.

What you'll do
- Test HART, FF and PROFIBUS eDDs for usability using DeltaV/AMS and HH475
- Test HART, FF and PROFIBUS field device integration with the DeltaV/AMS system
- Write test plans
- Log issues in the issue database
- Report test metrics and status to the lead at regular intervals
What you need
- Knowledge/experience of process field devices (flow, level, temperature, pressure) and final control devices such as control valves
- Knowledge/experience of industrial protocols: HART, Foundation Fieldbus, PROFIBUS and Modbus
- Knowledge/experience of Asset Management System (AMS/HH475) or DeltaV DCS
- Good written and communication skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability; quick learner
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering
