About this role

General Mills runs a Cyber Security Incident Response team that defends the company's people, systems and brands from threats. The Associate Analyst role is based in Mumbai and involves investigating real incidents such as phishing, malware and compromised accounts. Day to day, the analyst monitors security tools, contains threats, escalates cases and hands them over at shift changes. The role works with fellow analysts, detection engineering and technology teams, and business partners globally. It is an individual contributor position suited to someone with hands-on incident response experience who can work rotating shifts in a 24x7 facility.

What you'll do

  • Monitor SIEM and other tools for potential threats, intrusions or compromises
  • Investigate reported incidents, including phishing and Windows endpoint compromise
  • Analyze malware in a sandbox to understand impact and extract indicators of attack and compromise
  • Contain threats within defined containment time targets
  • Escalate events per the Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan and hand over cases at shift changes
  • Peer review open and closed cases and help fine-tune detections and automate processes

What you need

  • Full-time graduation from an accredited university (mandatory)
  • 2-4 years of related experience with incident response processes and tools
  • Knowledge of SIEM and SOAR, networking fundamentals, IDS/IPS, firewalls, EDR and the MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Understanding of phishing tactics, Windows endpoint investigation and forensic techniques for malware
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24x7 facility on-site in Mumbai
