About this role
Perceptyne builds dual-arm, dexterous industrial humanoid and semi-humanoid robots for electronics and automotive assembly, e-commerce packaging and similar work. The Robotics Research Engineer L1 works on-site in Hyderabad alongside experienced engineers in perception, planning, controls, software and hardware integration. The job is hands-on: writing ROS 2, C++ and Python code, testing it on real robots, and debugging failures. It suits early-career engineers with at least a year of robotics or mechatronics building experience who like working with physical machines.

What you'll do
- Build and improve ROS 2 software for robot arms, grippers, sensors and telemetry
- Help implement motion-planning, trajectory and control pipelines for dual-arm manipulation
- Develop C++ and Python tools for calibration, data collection, testing, logging and diagnostics
- Bring up and integrate cameras, depth sensors, encoders, motor controllers and grippers
- Run experiments in simulation and on physical robots and debug issues
- Write documentation, test procedures and reproducible experiment workflows
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Robotics or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated project experience
- 1+ years of experience building software or hardware for robot arms, mobile robots, drones, autonomous vehicles or mechatronic systems
- Working proficiency in C++ and/or Python
- Familiarity with Linux, Git and command-line tools
- Basic experience with ROS or ROS 2
- Understanding of coordinate frames, kinematics, trajectories, sensors and control, plus linear algebra and geometry
