SDET - AI-Enabled Quality Infrastructure

About this role

SS&C's Quality Infrastructure team builds the automation and quality tooling used by product scrum teams on the SS&C Advent Eze investment platform. The SDET builds and maintains test frameworks, CI pipelines and reporting systems rather than writing product tests directly. A key part of the job is adding AI-assisted capabilities such as test scaffolding, failure categorisation and smarter alert routing, and using AI coding assistants in daily work. The role also involves helping set practices for AI-assisted engineering across the organisation. It suits engineers with 2-4 years of test automation or software experience; candidates new to finance are welcome. Location is Hyderabad.

What you'll do

  • Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot in development, debugging and test authoring, and help shape good practices for them
  • Build AI-assisted features into quality platforms, such as test generation, failure categorisation, root-cause summaries and alert routing
  • Develop and maintain API and UI automation frameworks used across multiple scrum teams
  • Build and maintain CI pipelines in GitHub Actions and Jenkins, and troubleshoot CI failures and flaky tests
  • Contribute to test-reporting and alerting infrastructure, including Grafana dashboards and PagerDuty, Slack and Teams integrations
  • Review code, and document framework usage, onboarding guides and runbooks

What you need

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in software engineering, test automation or SDET/QA engineering
  • Hands-on use of AI coding assistants with judgment about accepting, verifying or rejecting their output
  • Solid programming skills in at least one language such as JavaScript/TypeScript or Python
  • Hands-on experience building or maintaining automated API, integration or UI test suites
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI, and Git workflows
  • Experience in Agile or scrum teams, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and willingness to teach AI-assisted practices
