About this role

This role sits in Deloitte's Customer practice in Pune and builds native Android apps for a digital healthcare product used by millions of members. The engineer works as an individual contributor across the full lifecycle, from design and coding to testing, release and production support. Day to day it involves writing Java/Kotlin code with MVVM, integrating REST APIs and third-party SDKs, and writing Espresso tests. The work is done with Product, UX, QA, Architecture and Security teams in an Agile setup. It suits Android developers with around 2 years of hands-on experience.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test and maintain native Android apps in Java and Kotlin using MVVM
  • Integrate RESTful APIs, backend services and third-party SDKs such as Firebase, Maps and push notifications
  • Consume content from Adobe Experience Manager or a similar CMS
  • Write unit and Espresso UI tests, support CIT and UAT, and fix defects
  • Work on CI/CD, build configurations, signing and releases using tools like Jenkins, SonarQube and Gradle
  • Provide production support and take part in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and documentation

What you need

  • B.E./B.Tech/MCA/MBA/MS
  • Minimum 2 years in software development, including native Android with Java and Kotlin
  • Minimum 2 years integrating APIs, backend services and third-party SDKs
  • Minimum 2 years with Gradle/Maven; minimum 1 year with AEM or a similar CMS
  • Experience with MVVM, Android Jetpack, Retrofit, Espresso and Git
  • Understanding of mobile application security best practices
