About this role
Target's Bangalore technology team builds and runs the software behind one of America's largest retailers. In this Engineer role you write, organise and maintain code based on designs, aiming for components that are scalable, secure and reliable. Day to day you review code, debug and automate, take part in testing and disaster recovery work, and handle common operational issues with little supervision. You also help evaluate new technologies through research and proof-of-concept work. The role suits developers with at least a year of experience who care about software quality and want to learn system architecture.

What you'll do
- Write, organise and maintain code based on designs and contribute to code and design reviews
- Support research and proof-of-concept work to evaluate new technologies
- Take part in construction, automation, debugging and implementation following best practices
- Participate in disaster recovery activities and in integration and regression testing, including test automation
- Resolve common technical issues and monitor system capacity
- Follow change and incident management standards
What you need
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of software development experience
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and its data structures
- Understanding of distributed programming concepts
- Familiarity with current and emerging technologies in your area
