The Android Software Engineer builds and maintains the app on phones and terminal hardware, working on checkout, receipts, refunds, invoices, inventory and sign-in. What you'll do

  • Build and ship Android features in Kotlin and Java using Jetpack libraries, coroutines and Jetpack Compose
  • Integrate with backend services over REST and GraphQL, including auth and session flows
  • Work on Bluetooth reader and terminal hardware integration under guidance
  • Write unit and instrumentation tests and take part in code reviews, CI/CD and staged releases
  • Investigate crashes and production issues and fix root causes
  • Write documentation and runbooks for areas taken over

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 to 3 years of Android development experience with strong Kotlin
  • Hands-on with Jetpack, coroutines, networking and local persistence
  • Experience with unit and instrumentation testing and mobile CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of secure handling of sensitive data on device
  • Clear written and spoken English and comfort working across time zones
