About this role

Qualcomm's WLAN Firmware team builds the embedded firmware that runs on its next-generation Wi-Fi chipsets. As an Associate Engineer in Bengaluru, you write and maintain C/C++ firmware modules and help implement Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 features. Day to day you test and debug firmware, and you work with driver, hardware, systems and validation teams to bring features up. You also investigate customer-reported issues and help tune performance and power use. It suits engineering graduates with strong C/C++ and debugging skills and an interest in wireless technology.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain WLAN firmware modules in C/C++ for embedded wireless SoCs
  • Implement features for IEEE 802.11 standards including Wi-Fi 6 (11ax) and Wi-Fi 7 (11be)
  • Run unit and integration tests and debug firmware components
  • Analyze and fix firmware, protocol, interoperability and performance issues
  • Investigate customer-reported issues and provide fixes
  • Support performance tuning and power optimization, and write debug tools, scripts and design documentation

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Understanding of data structures, operating systems and computer architecture
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development concepts
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals and wireless communication
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills and good communication skills
