The Data Science Consultant forms hypotheses, defines data needs, analyzes data and links findings to business P&L levers such as revenue, cost and margin. Day to day, the work includes predictive analytics, cleaning and validating large structured and unstructured datasets, and presenting recommendations to stakeholders. It suits experienced data scientists with a quantitative master's degree and a financial services background.

What you'll do
- Use advanced analytical and statistical techniques to identify trends, diagnose problems and build recommendations on low- to moderately complex initiatives
- Generate and guide business hypotheses using independent judgment
- Run predictive analytics and apply algorithms to mine large structured and unstructured datasets
- Clean and validate data to ensure completeness, accuracy and consistency
- Present insights and recommendations to functional colleagues, partners and stakeholders
What you need
- 2+ years of data science, data analytics or insight generation experience
- Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Economics or Computer Science
- 2+ years of experience in large banks or financial services, turning business problems into actionable insights
- Desired: strong SQL, Python and PySpark; experience with Teradata and data warehouses
- Desired: statistical modeling such as regression, decision trees, random forests, clustering and segmentation
- Desired: strong communication skills and BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI
